I. Structure
The bulldozer blade on the excavator is generally connected to the walking device through connecting rods. Its main components are the bulldozer blade, connecting rods, and hydraulic cylinder. Similar to the excavator bucket, it also has grease nipples and needs to be lubricated with grease at regular intervals. The hydraulic cylinder is located in the middle of the bulldozer blade. II. Application

For example, the Caterpillar D11 bulldozer is equipped with a double-cylinder bulldozer blade, which is a large piece of construction machinery that provides sufficient power for leveling large amounts of earth and stone; installing a bulldozer blade on military tanks is a good choice for road opening and obstacle clearance; tractors equipped with bulldozer blades are often used in rural land operations, and sometimes on muddy roads, where the bulldozer blade can easily complete road clearing work.

III. Function
Leveling the road surface: In most leveling and backfilling operations, for the same excavator model, an excavator equipped with a bulldozer blade is much more efficient than one without. In many cases, the bulldozer blade can clear roads, and the excavator usually places the bulldozer blade in the direction of travel when moving.
Facilitates walking and climbing: Under special conditions, such as encountering "wires" (possibly steel bars, water pipes, etc.), the excavator body can be suspended and obstacles can be crossed by operating the bulldozer blade and bucket. However, this operation is extremely dangerous, is considered illegal operation, and is not recommended.
Pushing materials together, facilitating loading: When the materials are almost excavated during operation, the remaining materials are difficult to dig into the bucket. At this time, with the cooperation of the bulldozer blade operation, with the bucket in front and the bulldozer blade in the back, the materials can almost be loaded into the bucket. When loading large stones, the bucket of a small excavator is also difficult to dig into the bucket, and the lifting action of the bulldozer blade can also be used in cooperation.
Facilitates hoisting operations: During the actual operation of the excavator, it is sometimes necessary to hoist mixers, cement pipes, etc., and sometimes the weight of these objects is small, and hoisting with the excavator seems laborious, and the center of gravity will shift towards the hoisted object, causing the excavator body to sway. At this time, lowering the bulldozer blade can significantly feel the center of gravity of the excavator move backward, and the operation of the entire machine is more stable.
Stabilizes the body: When the excavator needs to operate on a slope, the bulldozer blade can play a role in stabilizing the body, preventing collapse, and can also be used to level the working surface for backfilling, etc.
Getting on and off flatbed trucks: When an excavator gets on a flatbed truck, the bulldozer blade is generally placed in front to facilitate getting off the truck.
Facilitates rotation operations: When the excavator operates in a narrow space, the bulldozer blade can be placed close to the edge of the obstacle, using the bulldozer blade as a boundary. Because the bulldozer blade is wider than the vehicle body, that is to say, when there is an obstacle behind the excavator, as long as it does not exceed the position of the bulldozer blade, the driver can rotate with confidence, similar to a tailless excavator.
IV. Precautions
Pay attention to maintenance: The bulldozer blade also needs maintenance, and grease needs to be added to the pin joints for lubrication.
Reasonable use: During the pushing process, a small amount of material can be leveled. For hard materials, please push or not push according to the working conditions. Consider carefully. If the bucket can be used for excavation, use the bucket for excavation. After all, the excavator is not a bulldozer.
Safe operation: When operating on a slope, lower the bulldozer blade to stabilize the body to avoid accidents. If the bulldozer blade has cracks or scratches, check and repair and reinforce it in time to avoid more serious wear and tear. During travel, placing the bulldozer blade in front can avoid many problems.
